These Terms apply to mik.rent, the guest booking site of MIKstay, operated by TheGarage SHPK, a company registered in Albania ("we", "us"). By using mik.rent or booking a stay through it, you agree to them.
The most important thing to know: when you book on mik.rent, your contract for the stay is with the host who lists the place, not with us. We provide the site, the booking tools and the messaging; the host provides the accommodation.
1. What mik.rent is
mik.rent shows places to stay listed by hosts who use MIKstay to manage them. You can search, see availability and prices, book, pay, message the host, complete your check-in details and leave a review. No account is needed.
2. Bookings
A booking request is confirmed when the host confirms it or when payment is completed, depending on how the host takes bookings. Until then the dates are held for a short time only.
Prices, fees, taxes, house rules and the cancellation policy are set by the host and shown before you book. They are part of your contract with the host.
You must be at least 18 to book, give accurate details, and be the person who will stay or have authority for those who will.
3. Payments
Payments are taken by the host's payment provider, or arranged directly with the host where the host offers cash or bank transfer. mik.rent does not hold your money. Payment pages are provided by the provider and subject to its terms. We never see or store full card numbers.
4. Changes, cancellations and refunds
Cancellations and refunds follow the host's policy shown at booking. Requests to change dates or guests are answered by the host. Where a refund is due it is issued through the same payment method, by the host or their provider.
5. Check-in details and identity
Many countries require hosts to register guests with the local authorities. Your host may ask you, before arrival, for a date of birth, nationality and an identity document, and may ask to see the document at check-in. Providing false details may lead to cancellation without refund where the host's policy allows.
6. Your conduct
You agree not to use mik.rent unlawfully, to make bookings you do not intend to honour, to harass hosts, to post reviews that are false or abusive, or to interfere with the site or its security.
7. Reviews
After a stay you may be invited to leave a review. It must be about your own stay, honest and lawful. Reviews are shown with your first name and country and may be displayed on mik.rent and on the host's own website.
8. Our role and liability
We are not a party to the stay and are not responsible for the accommodation, its description, the host's conduct, or a booking site that holds your reservation. To the extent permitted by law, mik.rent is provided "as is", and our liability for anything arising from the site is limited to the amount of any fee you paid to us, which is normally nothing. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Problems and disputes
Talk to your host first, through mik.rent messages so there is a record. If that does not resolve it, write to hello@mikstay.com and we will help where we can. These Terms are governed by the laws of Albania, and any disputes with us are subject to the courts of Tirana, Albania, without affecting rights you have as a consumer where you live.
10. Changes and contact
